Abstract
The project’s goal is to find an optimal location to connect a renewable energy sources to a distribution network that simulates an urban electricity network.
in the first part of the project, a distribution network was planned according to accepted planning criteria. The choice of network components (transformers, transmission lines) was made according to data of real components. The network modeling and simulations were done using XPLORE PSSE simulation software, which calculates the network data using a power flow algorithm. in the second part of the project, renewable energy sources were connected and the optimal location for the power source was examined depending on network limitations.
Results
After the simulations, it was concluded that the optimal location for connecting renewable energy sources is close to the electrical substation. Near the electrical substation there is an ability to put power sources with greater power compared to farther than the electrical substation.
