Combining Solar Energy Source to the Israeli Electrical Grid

In this project we modeled a power system that is powered by photovoltaic sources. We simulated a possible power step that can be caused by nature interferences, to see how it affects the system frequency.
In order to maintain a stable system frequency and to minimize disturbance by the power step, we suggest to add an energy reservoir that will provide power to the system in case of interference.
In our model, we simulated the system using 3 different controllers: Root Locus, LAG and LQR. We added each one to a different simulation diagram.
When analyzing the simulation results, we focused mostly on the amount of energy used by the controller, the duration until stability was regained and the frequency on which the system was stabilized. We also simulated the reaction of each controller to different step sizes so we can determine controller robustness.

Our final conclusion was based on the different results.
