While renewable energy sources offer clear advantages, e.g. reducing air pollution and dependency on depleting fossil fules, they also present new challenges in the dynamics and operation of power systems. Among these, are the negative effects on system stability caused by the lack of rotational inertia and rapid changes in power output, which are characteristic to Photovoltaic sources. In this project, we use a simple power system containing a PV source, constant resistance load and a connection to an infinite bus to present the effect of renewable sources and energy storage on system stability.
