- In the world of Robotics, Medicine (surgery) and Video games, an advanced interface is required that allows people to feel the feedback generated by actions they perform or that are performed by them through a computer system, this interface is called haptic feedback.
- Therefore, the development of haptic feedback technologies has become a major research and development area in recent years.
- Today, many solutions exist, but they are complex, expensive, and require professional equipment. The goal of our project is to develop a simple and inexpensive bracelet that can provide direct sensory feedback on movements or forces exerted by a robot simulation or a real robot.
- The purpose of the bracelet is to simulate a sense of pressure, so that the user can feel the actions performed by the simulation as if they were happening on their arm. The system is based on small components such as a microcontroller and a servo motor. Which allows precise control of the intensity of pressure according to external input.
- For example, if the simulation reports pressure applied by pressing a button, the bracelet tightens itself slightly on the wrist and gives the user a real sense of resistance.
