This project is part of a large concept of smart and autonomous transportation for people and cargo. The objective is to have a robotic wheel, defined as ‘transporter’ which could potentially communicate with other transporters and work synchronously. The main focus of the project is to design and manufacture a comprehensive and modular wheel control system, under the restriction of manufacturing only in the local laboratory. While keeping the industrial application in mind, requirement and consideration were defined and followed by circuit and board designs. Then a CNC-based setup for PCB fabrication was constructed, with preparation for laser engraving and photo-lithography processes. The plan for the next phase of the project, Part B, is to complete routing the 3rd revision of the board, mill the laser driver board and the parallel port adapter, photo-engrave the board, choose a specific microcontroller and program it
