The Excellence Program in Robotics is designed to give students a real hands on experience in the field of modern autonomous robotics. Students will work with simulations as well as real robots in order to develop innovative robotic solutions. The program is designed to integrate students from different engineering backgrounds in order to combine multiple engineering disciplines in the development of advanced industrial robots.
There are currently 2 projects available:
Firstly, a student is required to work on the computer vision, this includes object detection, occlusion detection and object position and orientation classification all in a 3D environment.
Secondly, a student is required to develop the grasping algorithm which the robot will use in order to unpack a box of cluttered objects whilst making use of computer vision
The project will be carried out in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering
